SAT

What is SAT

SAT is the general term for Scholastic Aptitude Test as well as Scholastic Assessment Test for admissions to college in countries like the US. The reasoning test is of less than four hours and includes tests in critical reading, writing and math.

SAT Courses offer

The essays have automated scoring formats. You can avail of sample student essays too. About 6-7 SAT tests are held in a year while most universities accept test scores as valid up to five years.

SAT I

Reasoning tests are technically termed as SAT I and are essential for undergraduate studies in the US . The test is has a three hour duration. This multiple choice test assesses verbal skills as well as mathematical reasoning. Comprising of seven sections, the SAT I exam is for three hours. There are three sections for Verbal (75 minutes), three for Math (75 minutes) while the experimental section is of 30 minutes.

SAT II

Some universities also require SAT II test scores along with SAT. This one hour test has multiple choice questions too and tests one's knowledge on specific subjects besides the ability of knowledge application. Subject tests are held in Writing, Math IIC, Biology, World History, Chemistry, Physics, French Reading, Chinese Listening, German Listening, French Listening, Modern Hebrew, Korean Listening, Italian, Spanish Reading, Japanese Listening, Spanish Listening, Latin, English Language Proficiency as well as American History and Social Studies.

SAT Exam India

SAT Centers are set up all over India. The cities that conduct SAT exams are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Calcutta, Cochin, Hyderabad, Mussorie, Mumbai, Pune and Delhi.

SAT Exam Registration

The registration for this exam is most convenient online. It can also be done through mail to: College Board SAT Program, Princeton, NJ08541, USA. Early registration must be done within: 10 March 2010/14 April Regular registration is required before: 25 March 2010/29 April

SAT Exam Dates

SAT along with Subject Test dates : 1 May 2010 / 5 June 2010

SAT Fee

The reasoning test fee is $ 69 while for the Subject test (along with the regular fee) an additional $8 are charged per subject

SAT Scores

Three different scores are allotted during the SAT results. While there is a separate score in the case of Verbal Section carrying 200-800 the Mathematics section takes 200-800 and the final score is allotted 400-600.
