Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi comes under the University of Delhi. It was founded under the guidance of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in 1961. It is considered to be the best educational institutions in the field of imparting higher education degree to the students in the entire country. It opens up an array of opportunity for the students to grow. The current Principal of Sri Venkateswara College is Dr. P. Hemalatha Reddy. The abbreviated form of this college is SVC. It also offers the hostel facility both for girls and boys who come from far off place.
Venkateswara College is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is given an adjective name "College with Potential for Excellence". Under UGC it has only identified two colleges under University of Delhi. The distance education mode is also being offered by the college for the various interdisciplinary subjects. It is an element of Delhi University. It is popularly known as the Venky College in short. In New Delhi, this college is one of the most famous colleges in whole of the south campus. This college is located in Dhaula Kuan. It will celebrate its Golden Jubilee in the year 2010 to 2011.
Admission
For taking admission into this college is the dream of every student. But to get admission in this college one needs to make sure that they acquire high marks. The admission procedure to get into this college is the same as it requires that the students should fill up the common preadmission form. Candidates who seek to take admission in this college with the hostel facility must fill up the separate application form. This college also provides the counselling facility for the students in order to know or clarify their doubts that are pertaining in their minds while taking admission. The admission for the interdisciplinary courses is done on the basis of general admission, sports quota and extra curricular activities. The sale of the application form starts from 1 June and receipt of the complete application form is 15 June from 10 AM to 1 PM. The notification of first admission list is carried on 25 June which is generally published in the newspaper and also can be availed from the website. The consecutive three days are assigned for taking admission then the next three days are allotted for the payment of the fees for admission.

If still some seats are vacant then the second cut off list is made. The second cut off list is notified on 30 June then the next three days are assigned for taking admission, after three days you have to make the payment of fees. Third list comes on 4 July and the rest of the pattern for admission and payment of fees is same. The fourth list is notified on 9 July. The timings for the admission procedure is from 10 AM to 1 PM. On Sundays it does not involve in the admission procedure. Cut off list decides the admission of the students in this college. Always there is an increase in the cut off marks as cut off list 2009 is bound to change. Cut off list 2010 will have a rise in marks percentage.
Students also seek for taking admission under the sports category. For them the last date for the receipt of filled application form is same as 15 June and the timing is till 1 PM. Then they display the list of candidates who are further called for ECA trials. Approximately the date for the same is 4 July.
Students who claim to take admission under ECA category have to apply for the admission as on 6,7 and 8 July and the payment of fees is to be made on 7, 8 and 9 July.
