Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi is a co-educational institution that imparts degree courses in medical sciences. The name of the college is associated with the first education minister that is Maulana Azad. MAMC was named after the Indian freedom Struggle movement. It is located near the most famous British Jails, Khooni Darwaza (which is literally known as a bloody door). This college provides good hostel facility both for girls and boys. The name of the hostel is old boys' hostel, new boys' hostel, old girls' hostel and new girls' hostel. The objective of the college is to produce the efficient doctors, specialists and super specialists.
Maulana Azad Medical College is popularly known as MAMC. It is affiliated to the University of Delhi or Delhi University. The associated hospitals of Maulana Azad Medical College include Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Hospital, Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya and Sushruta Trauma Centre. The major hospitals are the first three. The college and the hospital made its beginning as a "Dental Wing" in 1983 to provide or supply the dental needs for the residents of Delhi. This college has been known for its providing excellent faculty in the country. Admission Procedure
The selection of the candidates for the academic courses is made on the basis of merit through All India Entrance Exam and Delhi Pre-Medical Test that is held annually in May month. The candidates who are selected are required to pay the fees within the time limit as prescribed by the college. And for any delay in submitting the fees by a selected person, the seat can be offered to the students next on the waiting list. The candidates who are selected under the entrance test have to undergo through the medical examination. Those found medically unfit shall not be admitted.
For taking admission in the undergraduate course, you need to appear in an entrance examination as is conducted by the CBSE on All India basis or if you score good merit in DPMT entrance test that is conducted by Delhi University. In order to appear for the entrance examination for the undergraduate level you need to secure 60% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The students who are selected have to go through the counseling session and at that time they are required to take admission. The preference is given to the Delhi Students.
In order to get admission for the post graduate course you need to score a good merit through All India PG Entrance Examination or PG entrance exam conducted by University of Delhi.
The admission to the students for the post doctoral courses is made through the entrance exam which is conducted by University of Delhi. The results are announced on the official website.
