CBSE - Central Board of Secondary Education

The Central Board of Secondary Education was earlier the Board of High School and Intermediate Education. It has evolved through several stages to become an educational system that vows to offer quality education and maintain a good standard of education in all its institutions. While it continues to respond to the need of students whose parents are employed in the Central Goverment, today, it reaches out to 21 countries through 8,979 schools from the earlier 309 schools in 1962. CBSE has 1761 government schools, 5827 independent schools, 897 Kendriya Vidyalayas, 480 Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalayas and even Tibetan schools numbering fourteen. CBSE Affiliation is required if a school wishes to adopt the CBSE system for which the CBSE affiliation form and procedure must be complied with.. The rules pertaining to CBSE admissions are provided by the Central Board. CBSE access is also provided online with regard to CBSE age criteria, CBSE AISSCE, CBSE Forum, CBSE AIEEE etc. There are CBSE Junior Colleges like CBSE Junior College Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur etc.

CBSE Board Exam 2010/Date Sheet

The Central Board of Secondary Education provides information on CBSE Board through its website. For details regarding the exam schedule 2010, centers, dates etc information is released on the CBSE site. The CBSE Board Exam Date sheet provides the CBSE time-table categorically with the dates of the exams subject-wise. In the CBSE Board Exam this year exams were held in March for Class X. beginning with Music on 3 March 2010 and ending on 31 March 2010. The Entrance Examination dates for the CBSE - all India PMP/PDT Entrance Examination 2010 are announced in mid April. CBSE admit cards 2010 are given according to each region for Class 10th and 12th to the respective heads of schools from the CBSE regional office. All corrections to admit cards have to be made well before time.

CBSE Syllabus

The Central Board of Secondary School education is available on the website of the Board of Education. Al the schools under the CBSE board follow the syllabus as per section wise viz. Senior Secondary Curriculum 2011 Hindi version, Secondary Curriculum 2011 Hindi version.

The updated syllabus is also prepared for the academic year 2010-11. The secondary school curriculum is available in two volumes viz. 1 and 2. Apart from the above senior secondary curriculum 2011 Volume 1 is ready. A subject wise syllabus is available on vocational subjects as per list put out on the CBSE web. CBSE Sample /Question Papers

New sets of CBSE Sample Papers as well as Question Papers are increasingly popular with students of the CBSE Board. Provision is made through several sites which offer the CBSE Class-wise latest sample papers 2010 down to last 5 years and 10 years. By clicking on to the CBSE website you can visit the site and go through the sample papers. Some of the sites permit a download of the same. These can be printed and made use of.
